You did it! You purchased a domain. You have an address on the internet, but you might not own property. By forwarding your domain, you insure that visitors to your address find property while you’re creating your ultimate destination.
You can forward your address to your YouTube account, Facebook, an affiliate site or any place you choose. Check out this video for “how to” details with GoDaddy and MergeDomains.
I’d love to believe that every MLM Success Training program includes a section on “Creating Your Online Identity.” Sadly, some MLM training materials actually discourage it.
I do know much of the MLM training encourages, “Fake it until you make it.”I love that one and preach it in my trainings.
When I purchased my first domain in the wee hours of what some consider night and others consider morning, I had no cluewhat I was doing. Fortunately, there was a customer service agent who literally did everything for me over the phone. I’ve come a long way since then and want all of our internet entrepreneurs to remember, “You need your own internet presence.”
If you’re not ready to take that step, you must fake it!Buy a domain and the rest is easy.
You’re excited about your new MLM business and you’ve decided to go to work even before attending your first MLM training. Congratulations! You’re a self starter and success is on the agenda.
Even without MLM network marketing training, you know you need to secure a domain. I recommend securing a domain with GoDaddy.com or MergeDomains.com. They both have excellent service. MergeDomains is a bit cheaper and that can add up when you discover the many domain possibilities.
Remember, .com is the preferred domain extension. You could make yourself crazy inputting the first hundred domain possibilities that come to mind. Or, you could check out this video for a wonderful review of MakeWords.com:
Second to asking friends and family, the internet is the place most people look for resources, any resource, shoe repair, tire care, scriptural commentaries, creative ideas, printer ink and more. If you want a piece of the internet action, you must own a piece of internet real estate.
On the WWW, your first step to owning real estate is securing an address. That address is a Uniform Resource Locator (URL).To keep it simple, we purchase Domain Names.
“My company provides me with a replicated site.” How professional does this look: www.My BigComany.com/repsite/myfirstandlastname? And, how easy is that to share over the phone? And, can anyone begin to remember that? (more…)
Your first step in getting your new blog up is to buy your domain name (also called a URL). There are a lot of domain registrars to choose from, we recommend GoDaddy as their prices are good and their support is great.
Some considerations when choosing your domain name:
1. If you’re setting up your blog for business purposes, you want to have your main keyword in your domain name. So, before you go to GoDaddy, brainstorm some domain names to have ready to see if they’re available.
2. Always use a .com (instead of a .net or .info, etc.) because people just naturally assume all domains are .coms.
