LG Optimus Black: Super Slim Touch Screen Phone

The LG Optimus Black is one of the slimmest touch screen phone to be released by the company on the second quarter of this year. This model made its debut during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2011 and when released will become the flagship Android phone of LG.

LG has been making low end to mid-range unlocked touch screen phone models for the past year and is hoping to dominate the high end market with the entry of the LG Optimus Black. Its slim profile of only 9.22 mm thick makes it the thinnest smartphone in the world so far. If you’re thinking that a device this thin must compromise in powerful features then you’re wrong.

Since this is going to be a flagship model for LG every little important detail was carefully planned for this touch screen phone. The first thing you will notice is that it has a large screen display. It uses a 4 inch Nova display that is capable of producing brighter colors. The screen is actually important since this is where this model gets its name. The Nova display is known to deliver the whitest whites and the blackest blacks. You will be able to view anything in your phone whether you are indoors or outdoors under direct sunlight. Another feature of the Nova display is that it reduces by as much as 50% your battery power consumption when you use it indoors.

One other unique feature of this model is that it will have Wi-Fi Direct. With this feature, you can easily transfer data from your device to another with the use of Wi-Fi and without any Wi-Fi hot-spots. This device will have a 5 MP primary camera capable of taking HD videos and photos. A front facing secondary 2 MP is also included to make crystal clear video calls.

The LG Optimus Black is expected to be released with Android 2.2 Froyo which you could later on upgrade to Android 2.3 Gingerbread. With Android 2.3 installed you will be able to take advantage of the 2 MP secondary camera that this touch screen phone has.
