WordPress is one of several popular open content management systems in the market today which is free to install and even grants you freedom to sell your website with WordPress in it without any royalty obligation to WordPress despite the fact that you receive it free from them. Aside from the several features of WordPress, this system is also equipped with a plugin design and a template system. Its plugin architecture is capable of transforming WordPress into its own separate system and for this reason, it is so popular that normally plugins are free but now there are several premium plugins being offered by various shopping carts at different prices as they are offering much more simple functionality like admin extension, links to social media and for file security they have clone wordpress backup files and it can adopt without problem with your webdesigns.

WordPress has been founded and created by Matt Mullenweg and Mike Little while the name WordPress was a suggestion from Christine Sellect, a close friend of Mullenweg. Matt Mullenweg and Mike Little were assisted by other developers who formed a core group which include Ryan Boren, Mark Jaquith, Mullenweg himself, Andrew Ozz and Peter Westwood who were complemented by a group of volunteers who conducted testing on every release who were given access of their beta versions and release candidates. WordPress was largely developed by the community around it and is working closely with the company founded by Matt Mullenweg named Automatic.

Because of its feature of being developed by the community through the group of volunteer developers and of its being an open source content management system, WordPress won in 2007 a Packt Open Source CMS Award and again in 2009, it won another award as the best Open Source CMS Award. WordPress’ popularity in the website community has led many affiliate marketers to use it as it is a good CMS tool in web blogging.
