Finding The Perfect Castle Wedding Venue

Every little girl, and sometimes even grown girls, dream about their perfect wedding.  Many times this includes visions of ball gowns, flowers, jewelry and of course Prince Charming.  Sometimes the dream even comes with a castle to complete the fairy tale look.  While castles are common across the pond in places like England, Scotland and many other European countries, they are not as prevalent in America.  However, if you have castle wedding venue ideas and want one to be the backdrop to your nuptials, there are a few options.

One of the most well known castles in America is the Biltmore Estate located in Asheville, North Carolina.  Known as America’s largest home and built in 1895 by the Vanderbilt family, it is designed in the style of a French Chateau.  This home and grounds which cover several acres are ideal to use as both indoor or outdoor wedding venues.  There are numerous packages available, including using the impressive gardens or ballrooms.  There are even wedding packages for just about everything in between.

If you can’t get to North Carolina, there is another French Chateau worthy of a fairy tale wedding located in New York State.  Located in Huntington, Oheka can accommodate up to four hundred and fifty guests or serve for an intimate affair of less than fifty.  This American castle is the perfect place for the regal wedding and reception of your dreams.

If your budget or travel plans won’t allow for either of these, look for historic sites near your home.  Look for homes or public buildings which resemble castles by containing turrets, gothic arches or even gargoyles.  You may even be able to find buildings with ornate stained glass windows and beautiful doorways.  If nothing like this pops into your head, ask a wedding coordinator to give you some ideas for having your perfect fairy tale wedding.  Chances are you will have a building suitable for your dreams in your region.  You may have to dress it up a bit, but with a touch of imagination, your dream wedding can easily become a reality.
